No takers for endowments dept posts in Hyderabad; 2 opt for deputation, 74 remain vacant

HYDERABAD: Endowments department's recent request for officers on deputation from other departments to fill its ranks evinced little interest with just two candidates opting for it.

The department has reached out to the panchayat raj department, seeking officials who might be interested in serving as executive officers on a deputation basis. Currently, 233 positions have been approved for the endowments department, but there are 74 executive officer roles still vacant, with little interest from candidates.

Highly placed sources indicate that the endowments department was facing a significant employee shortage. Despite govt approval to fill these positions, delays in processing related files were hindering progress on important temple work.

To alleviate this situation, the govt has authorised the appointment of officers from the panchayat raj department on deputation basis. As a result, officials from the endowments department have requested their counterparts in the panchayat raj department to encourage interested candidates to apply for these executive officer positions.
