NIPER holds its 10th convocation

Hyderabad: The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, held its 10th convocation on Friday where 187 students were awarded degrees. Seven were awarded gold medals. In all, 25 were awarded PhDs while the rest 162 were masters students.
Union minister of state for chemicals and fertilizers Bhagwanth Khuba, who was the chief guest, urged students to focus on research and development.
“India is a manufacturing hub of medicines, so much so that if you are prescribed four or five medicines, one will certainly be from India. During the pandemic, we came out with our own vaccine of which 220 crore doses were given. So, I urge you all to keep furthering this field of pharmaceuticals and find new solutions. We are already doing well in production, but research is one place you all can help the country,” said Khuba.
He also congratulated NIPER (Hyderbad) students and faculty for their second spot in National Institute Ranking Framework (NIFR).
NIPER (Hyderabad) director Dr Shashi Bala Singh said that the institute has now got an NABL accredited lab which is helping in generating revenue. She also said that in the last one year they produced 200 research papers, got four grants and 100% placement for students.
