Nigerian gets drugs from Mumbai kingpin, arrested

HYDERABAD: In yet another drug bust, a Nigerian man peddling drugs was arrested near

Apollo

Hospital in

Jubilee Hills

on Friday and four grams of

cocaine

were recovered from him.

Police are now planning to book a case under Foreigners Act along with other sections as the accused, Jimmy Amuzu, does not have a passport.

Jimmy, 30, was provided ‘shelter’ in SB Residency, Mini Gulshan Colony,

Tolichowki

, by a woman. Police said a fellow Nigerian staying in Mumbai would supply the cocaine to him. Assistant excise superintendent N Anji Reddy said Jimmy came to the city recently to supply the drug to customers.

“The Mumbai-based kingpin identifies himself as ‘government’. Based on his instructions, Jimmy came to Hyderabad and met one Timoti at Mini Gulshan Colony, who provided him with a cellphone.

Jimmy told the sleuths that ‘government’ gets orders for supply of cocaine, which later are forwarded to him. “Jimmy sells one gm of cocaine for ?6,000 and gets a commission of ?2,000 per gm,” Anji Reddy said.

Sleuths seized the cellphone and ?17,000 cash from the accused. “As Jimmy does not have a passport, we lodged a complaint with

Banjara Hills

police asking them to book a case under the Foreigners Act,” he added.
