NIA arrests trafficker, will present him before Hyderabad court

HYDERABAD: A 52-year-old man from West Bengal, who has been allegedly receiving money into his bank account from human traffickers across India for facilitating illegal border crossing and trafficking of Bangladeshi persons, was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA), Hyderabad, on Thursday.


NIA officials said the suspect, Ruhul Amin Dhali, is one of the main accused and conspirators in this case. In April, NIA officials had registered a criminal case and conducted raids in Chatrinaka and other parts of the country. They had busted a human trafficking racket, and rescued a Bangladeshi woman.

Investigators had multiple SIM cards in which many were Bangladeshi SIM cards, 10,000 worth Bangladeshi taka and a cellphone from Ruhul. He was produced before CJM Court at Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, on Friday for obtaining a transit remand. He is expected to be brought to Hyderabad on Saturday and produced before an NIA Special Court. Three accused persons from North 24 Parganas — identified as Mohammed Yousuf Khan, his wife Bithi Begum, and Sojib — have been arrested.
