Newly-wed woman hangs self at home

HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old newly-married call centre employee died of suicide by hanging on Thursday after her husband allegedly slapped her when she confronted him about talking to another woman. The deceased was identified as B Priyanka Paul from SP Colony, Trimulgherry. Priyanja had married Binny Andrew, who works at a different call centre, three months ago.
“It was a love marriage. Andrew’s family did not accept their relationship. After marriage, they were harassing her and the couple planned to move to a rented house,” Trimulgherry inspector K Ravi Kumar. On Wednesday morning, she had confronted Andrew about talking to another woman. Police found no suicide note. The woman’s family lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws. A case was registered under IPC sections 498 and 306.
