Municipal water leaves 20 sick

vijayawada: at least 20 persons belonging to the payakapuram slum area were hospitalised late on sunday night following complaints of diarrhoea after they consumed contaminated water supplied through municipal pipelines. the victims were rushed to the government general hospital here. according to doctors at the hospital, all of them were recovering after they were administered a drip.city mayor p anuradha, and municipal commissioner m v satyanarayana, rushed to payakapuram to know the exact cause of the incident. it was found that the water supplied was contaminated which lead to the outbreak.
