Move private bill to make Hyderabad second capital of India: Revanth
HYDERABAD: Congress candidate from
“At the high tensions across the country’s borders, there is an urgent need to think about Hyderabad as the nation's second capital,” the Congress candidate said.
Revanth Reddy, who started campaigning in Malkajgiri constituency, met walkers in the park and laughing club members seeking their votes. He also addressed party workers along with ex-MLA of Malkajgiri
Trying to attract people in a novel way of campaigning, Revanth said, “If I lose the elections, it will be my personal and if I win, it benefits every citizen in the city especially people of Malkajgiri,” he said. He said though, Malkajgiri is touted as `Mini India’, where people from all the 29 states and 23 districts of erstwhile AP live, but it does not have proper infrastructure facilities like roads, drinking water and sewerage.
The Congress candidate said Congress government in the United AP had sanctioned drinking water scheme costing about Rs 400 crore and Rs 100 crore for bridges to Malkajgiri due to efforts of the then MLA Akula Rajender. But since 2014, neither TRS MLA nor MP have done anything for this.
In the press conference, Reddy said that he is contesting from Malkajgiri on the instructions of Congress party leadership and requests from various leaders. “Though, in the assembly elections people voted for TRS over local issues, in the Lok Sabha elections, people have to vote keeping national interest in the mind and to see Rahul Gandhi as prime minister. I will get funds for the development of entire Hyderabad,” he said.
