Textiles minister P Shankar Rao and Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav on Thursday had a wordy duel reportedly over an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) posting in the city during the inauguration of the newly-constructed Musheerabad police station.

HYDERABAD: Textiles minister P Shankar Rao and Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav on Thursday had a wordy duel reportedly over an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) posting in the city during the inauguration of the newly-constructed Musheerabad police station. Director general of police (DGP) V Dinesh Reddy had to intervene and pacify the two warring leaders.The two leaders came for the inauguration of the police station along with Dinesh Reddy. The Congress leaders failed to arrive at an understanding over the appointment of an ACP during their discussion with the DGP as both wanted their nominees for the posting.Shankar Rao and Anjan Kumar were seen in a heated argument while coming out of a room in police station. Though initially it was presumed that the spat was about a protocol issue, later it emerged that the argument was over the ACP posting. Later, Shankar Rao left the premises in a huff.
