HYDERABAD: Five days after former billiards champion got a temporary reprieve from HC, Michael Ferreira and three others are being brought back by
Cyberabad cops after obtaining a prison transit (PT) warrant from a Mumbai court on Tuesday. They are being brought for questioning in connection with cheating and promoting the banned money circulation schemes through a company called Vihaan Direct Selling Pvt Ltd, a franchise of Hong Kong based Qnet, cops said.
Deputy commissioner, Madhapur zone,
Vishwa Prasad said four persons - Ferreira and Malcolm Nozer Desai of Mumbai, Magarlal V Balaji and V Srinivas Rao - were taken into custody by Madhapur police from Mumbai jail and they are expected to be produced in a local court here on Wednesday. The official spokesperson of Vihaan confirmed this development against the accused. Since Ferreira is an 80 % share holder in Vihaan, he is made an accused in a case registered in the Madhapur police station. The accused have been charged under section 384 (punishment for extortion), 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) of IPC along with Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act.
" We are bringing the accused on PT warrant. Mumbai court said that since Ferreira is aged person he should be taken on a flight to Hyderabad," Vishwa Prasad said. Vihaan authorities denied allegations and asked
Telangana police agencies to audit financial affairs of Vihaan. After Hyderabad Central Crime Station officials brought the accused last week, persons from Medak and other areas approached CCS sleuths to register complaints. But they were directed to approach the district police.
