HYDERABAD: It was a day of mixed feelings for S Surekha, a farmer’s daughter from Rayavaram village near Rayachoti mandal in Kadapa district, who topped the Eamcet-2004 medical stream.
Of course, she is ecstatic about her achievement, but Surekha is greatly missing her father Subbarayudu, who died twenty days back when he came in contact with a live electric wire.
“I miss him a lot. I wish he were here to share my joy, Surekha said on Wednesday after the results were released. “I had the blessing of my parents. I have tremendous confidence in myself and I was sure that I could achieve my goal and worked hard towards it, Surekha said. Surekha’s mother is a teacher at a private school.
Engineering topper M Aravind attributed his success to his singlemindedness in achieving his goal and meticulous planning. Though he is the engineering topper, Aravind prefers to pursue Electronics and Communication Engineering at the National Institute of Technology and will like to repeat the same performance in All India Institute of Engineering Entrance Examination.
Second ranker in the medical stream C Vishwa Chaitanya attributed his success to his regular schedule of study. “I did not overwork or exhaust myself. I was relaxed all through and had an open approach towards the examination.
All the toppers had their own patterns of study. Third ranker in the engineering stream M Krishna Teja said he had prepared for the test with selective intensive study in areas from where questions were asked repeatedly. “Aspirants should be good at basics to grasp the subjects, he said.
“The Eamcet examination is a test of one’s grit and hard work and I started preparing for it along with my preparations for the twoyear Intermediate studies, said B Chinni Krishna, seventh ranker in the engineering stream.
For some, motivation helps. “It is very important to be fully motivated till the end to achieve top ranks, said eighth ranker (engineering) V Naveen Kumar.
It is a different story in the case of Abhishek Raj who secured 10th rank in the engineering stream. He had scored average marks in SSC and above average marks in the Intermediate, but in the Eamcet he’s come out with flying colours.
