HYDERABAD: Representatives of the Majlis Bachau Tehreek (MBT) on Friday called on governor C Rangarajan and submitted memoranda demanding reconstruction of the Babri Masjid and also a judicial probe into the encounter killings of Mohammed Azam and Syed Abdul Aziz, suspected Lashkar-e-Tayyeba militants in the city last month.
The MBT was represented by acting president Mohammed Adam Malik, Chanchalguda corporator Amjedullah Khan Khaled and party leader Khayam Khan.
Stating that the Babri Masjid was demolished by forces belonging to the Sangh Parivar with complete disregard for the Supreme Court order to maintain status quo of the site, the MBT leaders urged the governor to request the president of India to use his extraordinary powers as constitutional head of India and ensure that the Masjid is rebuilt at the site.
Further, the MBT also demanded that the real culprits behind the Dilsukhnagar temple bomb blast be caught and a judicial commission headed by a sitting High Court judge be appointed to probe the encounter killings.
The International Ghareeb Nawaz Mission represented by M Baquer Hussain Shaz also called on the governor and submitted memorandums to him and also to the president of India and the chief justice of India to ensure that the Babri Masjid should be reconstructed at the earliest.
