Man killed over 'dowry demand'
HYDERABAD: A feud between two groups led to the murder of an autorickshaw driver at Moghalnagar on Sunday.
According to Langer Houz police, Mohd Khaleel, 23, who was a resident of Yousufguda, was allegedly murdered by his brother-in-law Shafiq Ahmed, Shafiq's brother Sameer, father Osman Ali and one Fareed over additional dowry.
Shafiq married Shameen Begum three and half years ago. He reportedly took Rs 2 lakh dowry at the time of marriage and was demanding an additional dowry of Rs 4 lakh from his in-laws. He even sent away his wife to her parent's house four months ago.
Both the families met at Moghalnagar to bring about a rapprochement. Shafiq allegedly stabbed Khaleel after a heated argument over the dowry issue while Shafiq's brother, father and another person caught hold of Khaleel.
Khaleel died while being shifted to hospital. Police arrested all the accused.
