A man from Medak district was allegedly kidnapped and relieved of Rs five lakh cash and other valuables. He was later freed at Suryapet in Nalgonda district.

HYDERABAD: A man from Medak district was allegedly kidnapped and relieved of Rs five lakh cash and other valuables. He was later freed at Suryapet in Nalgonda district.
According to police, the victim, P Sudhakar, 32, hailing from Tadakkal village, manages a rice mill of his relative. He arrived in the city on Friday as part of his bank transactions.
On Saturday afternoon at around 1 pm, Sudhakar went to the SBI branch at Balkampet.

He withdrew Rs 5.2 lakh and made a payment to a trader towards the purchase of empty bags.
Sudhakar kept the remaining Rs 4.9 lakh cash in a laptop bag and was walking near S R Nagar crossroads when the miscreants who reportedly came in a white Maruti Omni dragged him into the vehicle, S R Nagar police said. Later, the abductors sprayed some liquid into his eyes which made him semi-unconscious, detective inspector Asad Ali said.
By the time Sudhakar regained his senses by night, he was released three kms away from Suryapet. The kidnappers took away the bag containing Rs 4.9 lakh apart from a cell phone and a gold ring of Sudhakar. He reportedly suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.
Sudhakar managed to reach the city at around 3 am on Sunday and called up his relatives who shifted him to a private hospital at DRDL.
