HYDERABAD: Hours after a 22-year-old man received a phone call from Kurnool
police
informing him about a case filed by his female friend’s family against him, the boy committed
suicide
on Saturday at Netaji Nagar in
Borabanda

police said that
V Sai
, a food delivery boy, hanged himself and his family claimed that he took the extreme step due to financial problems. However, no suicide note was found.
On Friday, Sai was informed by the police that a complaint has been lodged, alleging that he failed to return his friend’s gold ornaments and cash and he was asked to appear for investigation. It is being suspected that Sai took the extreme step fearing that he might get arrested.
Sai had befriended the girl from
Kurnool
a few months ago on
TikTok
and later started asking the girl for money. She allegedly gave a gold chain and cash and Sai raised loan against the gold ornaments. When the girl asked him to return the gold chain, Sai started avoiding her. She informed her parents and they filed a police complaint.
