Man, daughter killed as truck rams into bike at Shadnagar

Hyderabad: A father-daughter duo was killed when a truck rammed the bike on which they were riding at Shadnagar Crossroad on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as Mahender (48), a real estate agent, and his daughter Mythri (20), a final-year engineering student. The incident occurred while they were on their way to a bus stop, from where Mythri was supposed to board a bus to her college.As they reached Shadnagar Crossroad, the truck rammed the bike from behind. The duo fell onto the road, and Mythri came under the wheels of the truck. "While Mythri died on the spot, her father succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The truck rammed the bike from behind at a high speed," Shadnagar inspector P Vijay Kumar told TOI. The truck driver, Srinu, a native of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested. Officials have seized the vehicle and shifted the bodies to a mortuary for postmortem examination.
