On Maha ground, CM Revanth slams BJP ‘lies’ on Cong guarantees in T

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday invoked self-respect, pride, and gallantry of Maharashtra, terming the state as the soil of ‘veers' (heroes) like Chhatrapathi Shivaji, BR Ambedkar, Jyothirao Phule, Bal Thackeray and Sharad Pawar.
However, he criticised covert leaders like Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for becoming slaves to the domination of Gujarati leaders.
‘BJP misleading people'
The BJP alliance govt has no achievements and success stories to tell the people of Maharashtra. As a result, BJP, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, started misleading the people with lies against Congress. As many as 17 major investments were diverted to Gujarat from Maharashtra, he alleged.
Revanth said this while addressing a joint media conference in Mumbai, along with his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar.
Though there are many parties in the electoral fray in Maharashtra, the main contest is between the ruling Mahayuti alliance (BJP Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar-led parties) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT, Sharad Pawar's NCP).
Revanth called upon the people of Maharashtra not to fall prey to BJP's lies but to protect their self-respect, pride, and gallantry by defeating the BJP-alliance in the Nov 20 election to 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra.
"BJP leaders were lying about Telangana and our policies for the last few days. We didn't pay attention to that. But when PM Modi started lying about Telangana and our policies, I thought we would speak the truth and would continue to do so until Modi stops lying. I replied to PM Modi's tweet on Congress promises in Telangana, after which his thread on X was deleted," he said.
‘Will speak the truth'
BJP is trying to win the election on lies. It should be called Bharatiya Jhoota Party and not Bharatiya Janata Party. "If Congress alliance wins, it will be a victory of truth and not political parties," he added.
"The pride and self-respect of Maharashtra people is at stake in this election. Gujarat's domination is taking away the investments from Maharashtra," Revanth said.
The highest number of suicides of farmers was in Maharashtra, followed by Telangana. But the Congress govt promised a 2 lakh crop loan waiver and implemented it. "In 25 days, we waived crop loans of over 22 lakh farmers, depositing nearly 18,000 crore into their bank accounts. We are offering a 500 bonus on fine variety paddy, in addition to the MSP," Telangana CM added.
"Come to our state. We will provide you with all details and statistics," he informed the BJP leaders.
