Lorry mows down 12-yr-old girl

HYDERABAD: A 12-year-old girl, Eslavath Kumari, was run over by a lorry while she was crossing the road near Alkapuri Crossroads on Wednesday at around 4 pm.
According to LB Nagar sub-inspector Maqbul Jhoni, the girl, a Class-IV student of Government Girls High School, Hayathnagar, disembarked from an RTC bus near Alkapuri Crossroads. As she was crossing the road to go to her home in Sai Nagar on the other side of the road, an empty lorry hit her.As a result, she died on the spot.
The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot after the incident. A case was registered under section 304-A (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Later, the body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for post-mortem.
