Locked inside flat for days, pet dog eats away parts of owner's dead body

HYDERABAD: The city police on Wednesday recovered decomposed body of a 55-year-old man from a house at Road no- 5 of posh Banjara Hills area. The body was locked inside the flat for many days. Police found the pet dog also locked in the house alongwith the body.
The police were informed by the neighbours after they got suspicious due to foul smell emanating from the locked house.

The deceased has been identified as Hari Hara Reddy, son of former IPS officer MLM Reddy. The deceased is also a relative of former DGP Dinesh Reddy. His brother Rahul Reddy is also an IPS officer.
Hari Hara's body was identified by his brother Rahul Reddy. Hari Hara has been living there alone with is pet dog for over one year as his wife had moved out with their two children. Initial probe shows that Hari Hara had died at least four days ago. Read this story in Telugu
Hari Hara's some parts of the body were reportedly eaten away by the pet dog.
Banjara Hills Police booked a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and the body was shifted for post-mortem examination.
According to police Hari Hara had reportedly told his neighbour that he experiences chest pains. So police suspects that he may died due to a heart attack as there were no visible injuries on his body and no suicide note was found at the scene.
