Hyderabad: A row over automobile loan recovery ended in a clash between members of two minority communities resulting in mild tension at NM Guda near Sikh Chawani in Rajendranagar on Sunday night.
According to Rajendranagar police, at around 10.30 pm two loan recovery agents of an auto finance company intercepted a biker from another community at NM Guda. The men tried to take the bike claiming the man had failed to repay the loan. When he resisted, the duo allegedly beat him up.
The biker managed to reach police outpost and the assailants followed him. By then people from both communities had gathered there and police had to use mild force to disperse the mob.
“The finance company alleged that the biker removed the number plate to evade them, while the man claimed he had not taken any loan. We have registered cases against both the groups,” inspector Nagendra Babu said. Police have reportedly taken a few people in custody.
