Literary week for children in city

HYDERABAD: A literary week, ‘Sahithi Sapthaham’, has been organised at the City Central Library from September 6 to 12, in a bid to encourage reading and develop literary interest in children.
Around 10,000 classes six to ten students from schools across the state are expected to participate. various competitions like elocution, lyric writing, story telling, dictionary reading, book reading, story and essay writing in Telugu among others will be held Hyderabad City Grandhalaya Samstha, Vooyala Communications and Jayanthi Kala Samithi are jointly organising the week.Gnanpeeth awardee C Narayana Reddy will be the chief guest for the week. He will release eleven books and felicitate the authors.
Prominent literary personalities like Vice Chancellor, Potti Sreeraamulu Telugu University G V Subramanyam, Ravuri Bharadwaja, Tripuraneni Maharadhi will participate.
