Lisa’s friends, NGO raise funds to foot hospital bills

HYDERABAD: While Lisa Dhar Choudhary, has been undergoing treatment and surgeries at the hospital for injuries she sustained in the accident, her friends are raising funds to help her family pay the hospital and medicine bills.
After TOI reported that the friends of Lisa were raising fund for her treatment, they have been able to raise over Rs 70,000 within a day."There are people who are reaching out to me personally and I have been providing them with Lisa's account number. I received over 100 calls on Friday. alone from people who were willing to chip in to help Lisa. We have raised over Rs 70,000 so far," said Chiranjit Ghosh, a friend of Lisa and Abhishek.
According to friends, an NGO, ImpactGuru has also joined hands to help raise funds for her treatment.
"Lisa had multiple fractures on her limbs, ribs and right hand. Her right leg has been badly injured and her bones are dislocated. She has been admitted to Kims, Kondapur and is in the ICU. Her parents are in a state of shock. She requires multiple surgeries and may have to continue to stay in the ICU for a longer duration . Her treatment and medication cost around Rs 6 lakh. Please help in funding her treatment," stated the crowd funding website.
"So far the crowd funding website has raised over Rs 5 lakh. However, she will need more money. Her treatment including surgeries, post operative care, medicines and hospital charges will together cost around Rs 16 lakh. On Friday, doctors conducted a surgery and implanted six metal plates. She will have to continue to stay in the ICU in order to make a complete recovery and has to undergo another surgery after a month," said Ghosh.
