HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old private photographer, Mohd Imran Hussain, was brutally murdered by three persons outside a private school at Santoshnagar colony on Wednesday morning. He was reportedly having an affair with a married woman and police suspect the role of her husband and his relatives in the murder.
Imran, who was unmarried, had a photo studio at Hafeezbaba Nagar, police informed.

He was earning his income by taking photographs of applicants at the sub-registrar office in Champapet.
Police said Imran was involved with Shabana Sultana, a 30-year-old married woman. Her husband Habeeb Hussain was employed in Dubai while she was living in Akbarnagar along with their two children. “The husband used to visit India once a year and spend two months with his family,” Santoshnagar assistant commissioner of police A S MD Ismail told TOI.
On Wednesday, Shabana went along with Imran on his two-wheeler to drop her six-year-old daughter at G B S Angel High School in Santoshnagar Colony around 9.15 am.
While Shabana took her inside the school, about five persons came in an auto, three of them pounced on Imran and stabbed him with swords and knives. They fled the spot before Shabana returned. Shabana found Imran in a pool of blood and rushed him to Owaisi Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
As per preliminary investigation, the assailants were identified as Ahmed (Habeeb Hussain, brother-in-law of Shabana), Nayeem (Ahmed’s cousin) and Ismail (relative of Ahmed) and two others. A hunt is on to nab them.

Two months ago, Shabana Sultana had lodged a complaint with the police alleging dowry harassment by her husband. She had also filed for divorce two months ago. “We are suspecting the husband’s hand in the murder,” said Santoshnagar inspector B Sudarshan Reddy.
Imran’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) from Owaisi Hospital for a post-mortem. He had received a total of 17 stab injuries on the chest and abdomen.
Based on the complaint lodged by Mohd Izaz Hussain (deceased’s brother), a case was registered against five persons and the husband.
