in reddycherla village of prakasam and daulatabad in medak also rival claims are that two candidates seek the office on the basis of the declaration handed over by the returning officer. in all the three writ petitions, now before the court, the claim is one of use of force by one of the candidates after recount and forceful signature by the defeated candidate. minor variation in the votes has led to the recounts and the rival claims. both candidates in each of the said three gram panchayats seek directions that they be administered the oath of office. ---- stay granted on deductions of sonet in another case, justice reddy has admitted a writ petition filed by the management of aizza college of engineering challenging an order of the government requiring all engineering colleges in the state to be members of the society for the net working for excellence in technical education (sonet). the petitioner complained that the government was forcibly collecting amounts from engineering colleges towards subscription funds. the petitioner complained that the only role of the state authorities was in allotting 50 per cent seats to minority institutions and nothing else. the petitioner complained that from the fees payable to the college by the students authorities were deducting the amounts even though the petitioner never consented to join sonet. the judge directed the authorities not to make the deductions from the amount due to the petitioner. ---- revenue action stayed in another case, justice b sudershan reddy has stayed further action on a piece of land in khanamet village of serilingampally of rangareddy district. the judge took on file a writ petition complaining that the revenue authorities went about demolishing the compound wall of a private property from 5.30 pm till midnight on september 4. l prakash rao and six others claiming to be owners of the property complained against the highhanded action and also said that it was without notice to the effected parties and thus in violation of principles of natural justice.
