HYDERABAD: In a fit of rage, a lawyer reportedly attacked a college hostel warden in Himayathnagar on Saturday night due to alleged indecent behaviour of hostel inmates. Ashutosh Pathak, an advocate and resident of D M Estate, Street Number 8, Himayatnagar, stays opposite a three-storied building in Himayathnagar where Narayana College boys' hostel is located on the second floor.
"On Saturday night, Pathak saw students in the hostel changing their clothes without closing the windows. Father of a young girl, the lawyer was enraged by the indecent act," Narayanaguda sub-inspector of police G Venkatesham said. Pathak, who was in an inebriated condition at that time, entered the hostel at around 11.30 pm and started beating up students who were busy studying.
"He also attacked the hostel warden, M Someswara Rao, who came out from one of the rooms. The warden suffered a bleeding injury on the thigh," police said. The injured warden was immediately shifted to a corporate hospital in Hyderguda. Police took the lawyer into custody and based on a complaint lodged by the hostel warden registered a case under section 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Pathak. The lawyer was produced before a court where he secured bail.
