Lakhs of worshippers converge on Jumatul Vida

HYDERABAD: Jamutul Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan, saw tens of thousands of worshippers amid tight security. Namazis spilled from the historic Mecca Masjid onto the streets of the Old City.
Prayers carpets were laid outside the mosque, all around Charminar, so as to facilitate worshippers. Those who arrived late brought their own prayer mats.
Traffic diversions were in place. Vehicles were not allowed onto Sardar Mahal Road to Charminar, from Gulzar Houz to Charminar, Lad Bazar to Charminar and Charminar Bus Station to Charminar.
