HYDERABAD: Kosaraju Venugopal, vice-chairman of the Krushi Bank, and brother of its chairman Venkateshwara Rao, surrendered before the CID officials here on Wednesday.

hyderabad: kosaraju venugopal, vice-chairman of the krushi bank, and brother of its chairman venkateshwara rao, surrendered before the cid officials here on wednesday. accompanied by his lawyer,venugopal first arrived at the central crime station at basheerbagh and he was later escorted to the dgp office complex, where the cid offices are located. cid deputy superintendent of police, mohammad wajid siddique, took venugopal into the custody.

before being taken into the cid office,venugopal told the reporters that he was innocent and not at all aware of the activities of his brother,venkateshwara rao."i know nothing about the krushi bank and i am not at all aware of the financial transactions carried out by my brother," he said. venugopal said he was residing at his native place in ventrapragada in krishna district and decided to surrender to the police after his name appeared in the police wanted list. police sources said venugopal would be produced before a court on thursday.
