At Rs 4.5k crore , BJP candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy assets see 410% increase in 5 years

One of India’s richest candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has seen a substantial jump in income in the past five years. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, BJP’s candidate for the Chevella Lok Sabha seat, declared on Monday that he — and his family — own assets worth Rs Rs 4,568 crore.

This is a 410% jump from the Rs 895 crore that he had declared in 2019.

Most of the wealth comes from movable assets of his wife, joint MD of Apollo Hospitals Sangita Reddy, and his own. These include shares in Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited, PCR Investments, Citadel Research, Everest Infra Ventures and Saffron Solutions and other companies.

While assets in his name are around Rs 1,240crore, his wife’s assets are worth Rs 3,208 crore.

Konda Vishweshwar doesn’t own car, dependent son worth Rs 108 crore

His dependent son is worth ₹108 crore. The couple own diamonds and gold worth ₹11crore along with two villas at Aparna Elixir in Puppalaguda in the city and agricultural land in Chevella, Rajendranagar and Chittoor. Interestingly, Vishweshwar Reddy doesn’t own a car.

Vishweshwar Reddy has also shown income from salary, rentals, interest on deposits and dividend at ₹4.65 crore. Sangita Reddy has an income of ₹12 crore from salary, dividend and her businesses.

Vishweshwar Reddy declared in his affidavit that he faces four criminal cases, including a cheating case in Dwarka, New Delhi. FIRs were registered against him at Banjara Hills, Gachibowli and Vikarabad police stations in the city and Dabri police station in Dwarka.

He joined politics in 2013 in TRS and won as MP from Chevella in 2014. He later quit BRS and joined Congress and then resigned from Congress and joined BJP.
