Hyderabad: Former Amberpet MLA
G Kishan Reddy of BJP lodged a complaint with police claiming that he had received threatening calls from unidentified persons on April 20 night. Police, after getting a permission from court, filed a case on Wednesday.
Kachiguda inspector S Janaki Reddy said they received the complaint on Tuesday evening and the complaint was referred to the local court concerned since it was a non-cognisable offence.
The case was registered under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
The BJP leader claimed he received two back-to-back calls wherein the caller allegedly threatened him with dire consequences. The caller spoke in Urdu, the former MLA, who entered the Lok Sabha election fray from Secunderabad seat, said. It was at 10.30 pm Kishan Reddy received the call with the caller number in four digits. “The caller told Kishan Reddy after April 23 he will face dire consequences,’’ Janaki Reddy said.
In the past also, Kishan is learnt to have received threatening calls.
