HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to leave for New Delhi in the next couple of days to request the party high command to drop three ministers from his cabinet and include a few of his choice.
According to sources, the induction of two erstwhile PRP legislators C Ramachandraiah (MLC) and Ghanta Srinivasa Rao (MLA) is scheduled to be held on January 19 at 11.45 am.
Along with their induction, Kiran Kumar wants to get rid of a few ministers and bring in a few of his choice.
Those whom Kiran wants out are textiles minister P Shankar Rao, minority welfare minister Md Ahmedulla and stamps and registrations minister Thota Narasimham. While Shankar Rao’s criticism of the CM is well known, Kiran wants Ahmedulla out so that he can bring in Md Jani, MLC from Guntur. In Narasimham’s place, CM wants to bring in Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy.
Kiran Kumar is also trying to get first time MLC M Ranga Reddy as special representative of AP government in Delhi. The CM has sought an appointment with AICC general secretary in-charge of AP Gulam Nabi Azad and the CM may leave for Delhi either on Saturday or Monday, sources said.
