HYDERABAD: Worried over the possible opposition he might face during Rachchabanda to be held between Jan 24 and Feb 12, particularly in
Telangana, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy held a detailed review meeting with ministers and senior police and intelligence officials on Tuesday and decided to go ahead with the programme in the T region.
At a mini cabinet meeting, which lasted for over an hour, he sought the opinion of his colleagues and highlighted the issues he proposed to address during the programme.
Reddy will be launching the Rachchabanda from Vizianagaram district on Jan 24, according to a minister. The ministers, including those from Telangana, while expressing some apprehension of possible trouble by T activists, felt that the CM should go ahead with the programme. “Welfare cannot stop for political reasons,” a minister told TOI.
But senior Congress leader R Damadar Reddy in a statement urged the CM not to take up Rachchabanda in the region till the T issue was sorted out.
