on Sunday, as ‘Kebab Festival’, held as part of the central government’s
Paryatan Parv
commenced at the iconic heritage monument. Traffic was diverted and the stage was set for an evening of cultural extravaganza. In true Nawabi style, the foodies relished a range of melt-in-the-mouth kebabs like boti, seekh, tangdi, shami to galouti and dawa, even as they enjoyed an array of music and dance performances.
While dance recitals such as kathak and perini thandavam garnered roaring applauses from the crowd, a
qawwali
performance by
Warsi Brothers
with the Charminar as the backdrop transported many to the heydays of Hyderabad’s
Nizami era
