Judge family sets record with both daughters in Telangana judiciary

HYDERABAD: K Nickysha, daughter of K Kusha, chief judge of the city small causes court, Hyderabad, has been selected as a junior civil judge in the Telangana judiciary.

Her sister, K Bhavana, is currently serving as the judicial magistrate of first class-cum-4th additional junior civil judge at Mahabubnagar, making this a rare family where the father and both daughters are part of the judiciary.

Nickysha began her preparation when her twin daughters were less than a year old, balancing the demands of motherhood with rigorous study. Nickysha narrowly missed clearing the preliminary examination in 2022 by just one mark - the same year her sister cleared it - but did not give up, even during her pregnancy.

With renewed determination, Nickysha cleared the prelims in June 2024, the mains in Nov 2024, and the interview in April 2025, securing her place in the final selection list.
