HYDERABAD: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), the first university in the country to introduce online electronic examination system, is all set to go for national accreditation.
Discussing arrangements made for the 19th convocation of the university scheduled for Thursday, JNTU vice-chancellor Dr Y Venkatrami Reddy said a total of 13,473 students who have completed their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, science, pharmacy and architecture will be awarded degrees.
Governor and university chancellor Surjit Singh Barnala will preside over and University of Hyderabad vice-chancellor Dr Kota Harinarayana will deliver the convocation address. This year, four post-graduate and two under-graduate courses will be introduced and the possibilities of collaboration with foreign universities will be explored.
The university will go for the national accreditation by NAAC (National Academic Accreditation Council), the vice-chancellor said.
