HYDERABAD: As part of the investigation into the sensational murder of businessman Chigurupati Jayaram, the two accused, Rakesh Reddy and Srinivas, were brought to Hyderabad by the Jubilee Hills police on transit warrant and were sent to judicial remand till February 25.
Jubilee Hills police said that Rakesh Reddy and Srinivas were brought from Vijayawada to Hyderabad on a Prison Transit (PT) warrant.
On Tuesday, the investigation officer will move a petition in Nampally court seeking police custody of the two accused. The two were earlier produced before the judge at his residence in LB Nagar, who directed them to judicial remand till February 25.
Recently, Krishna district police of
Andhra Pradesh had arrested Rakesh Reddy and Srinivas for allegedly killing Jayram in connection with a financial dispute. After committing the murder in Jubilee Hills, the accused took the dead body and abandoned it inside a car. They attempted to project the death as a road accident on National Highway-65.
After Krishna police declared that it was a case of murder, which took place in Jubilee Hills, the case was transferred to Hyderabad police and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Banjara Hills division) was made Investigating Officer in the case.
