On the other hand, Rakesh Reddy has a case of theft linked to stolen red sandalwood. “Jagga Reddy obtained visas and passports to himself and family using false photos and illegally transporting family members to the US for making monetary benefits,” said police.

The case is pending trial in the court. Additionally, Jagga Reddy is also embroiled in a land dispute involving cheating and forgery. Police said Mir Wajid Ali Kamil and his family were the owners of 760 acres land in Edula Nagulapally. The government acquired 200 acres by invoking Land Ceiling Act.

In order to get back the 200 acres and to look into the matter with litigations, complainant Veeresham along with others entered into an agreement that the landowners have to give 60% of land while they have to take 40% after winning the case. Later, they won case and obtained passbooks. Police said: “Jagga Reddy consulted them and expressed that he will purchase the land.

Accordingly, they along with landowners agreed to sell the land in 2010 and they executed sale deeds in favour of people suggested by Jagga Reddy. While some amount was paid, rest was given as a cheque. They never saw those people again. They signed on the registration document for 144 acres along with the owners for Sukesh Gupta executed in favour of Core Projects and Technologies Ltd, Navi Mumbai.”

This led to accusations of cheating the Gouthami Nagar venture plot owners when the promised payment was never delivered. In Rakesh’s case, police said: “A case was registered in 2021 in Mahanandi rural police station of Kurnool under AP Forest Act, Wild Life Protection Act, AP Sandalwood and Red Sandalwood Transit Rules where it was alleged that Rakesh is a recipient of stolen red sandalwood goods.” Rakesh owns Rocky Red Sandal Exporters and Reddy Saab Infra. He owns assets of Rs 17.8 crore that include 15 vehicles.
