The Telangana government is organising dinner for 1,500 Indian and foreign delegates, who are attending the Global Economic Summit, at Golconda Fort.
As soon as sun sets lakhs of mosquitoes invade that area. Entomologists are on their toes to ensure mosquitoes do not bite or buzz around GES delegates and government officials when they have conversations over the lavish dinner.
From the past one week, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) Entomology Wing has been spraying herbal liquids and chemicals on the walls of Golconda Fort. They took up fogging inside and around the historic fort. Fogging was taken up in the surrounding residential areas too.
GHMC's insect collectors used suction tubes to check the density of mosquitoes to know about if population of the insects and mosquitoes have come down or not. In their test they know that earlier there were 200 mosquitos for one hour and now it came down to less than 40. They are working to make it Zero. Now they are using citranilla oil spray to avoid chemical smell. Officials are buying special lemon gross incense sticks from Nanded to use at dinner time.
