In the first incident, Inter student G Valli Naga Sai Prasanna Lakshmi hung herself to a hook in the kitchen of her house at Sachivalaya Nagar in

Vanasthalipuram

with a stole in the late hours of Thursday. Police did not find any suicide note but found out that Valli was upset after members of her family chided her for maintaining a close relationship with a boy.

Anisha Karim, 24, wife of Md Ibrahim, committed suicide by hanging herself in the bedroom of her house at Hasthinapuram in LB Nagar police station limits due to alleged harassment from her inlaws. Ibrahim, who works as a chartered accountant in Qatar, married Anisha four years ago.

Anisha’s parents — Kareem and Waheda Begum — in their complaint to cops said the in-laws have been harassing Anisha as she did not beget a child for three years. Eleven months ago, Anisha gave birth to a baby boy but there was no let-up in their harassment, the parents alleged. Based on the complaint, police registered a

dowry death

case against the in-laws.

In another incident, 22-year-old private employee P Nagalakshmi from Brindavan Colony in Rajendranagar hung herself in her home on Thursday, upset over a relative slandering her, which had led to cancellation of a marriage alliance. Police registered an abetment to commit suicide case against Laxman.
