Integrate AI to fix gaps in power sector, Revanth tells officials
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday directed officials to utilise artificial intelligence (AI) to address deficiencies, improve power supply, and ensure that transformers are not subjected to overloading. "With new industrial estates, high-speed rail corridors, and development projects such as the Regional Ring Road (RRR) set to come up in the state, officials should immediately commence the construction of substations required to meet the corresponding power demand," the CM said at a review meeting on the energy sector, held along with deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka and officials."As part of the Green Energy Policy, approvals should be granted to applicants on a priority basis. Necessary clearances for large-scale data centres should also be provided," the CM told officials. Stating that awareness should be created among women belonging to SHGs about solar power and the promotion of solar stoves, the CM directed officials to establish solar power plants adjacent to substations."Under a pilot project, set up solar power plants next to two substations in each of the erstwhile districts, wherever land is available. Appoint nodal officers for the construction of 18 solar power plants under the pilot project (two plants per district across the nine erstwhile districts, excluding Hyderabad)," he said. Meanwhile, the chief minister also instructed senior officials to dispel misconceptions among employees and staff regarding their integration into the Rythu discom.
