India’s indigenous Indrajaal secures military, infrastructure and urban assets against drone attacks

Hyderabad: Just like Israel has its iron dome, Hyderabad-based Grene Robotics has developed Indrajaal, an AI-powered comprehensive anti-drone tech solution that throws a 360 degree protection net against drones for a range of up to 4,000 sq kms thanks to its modular, network architecture. The platform was first deployed in 2021 to protect the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.Indrajaal's drone defence is powered by the company's own proprietary AI-enabled platform called Sky-OS. The system detects, tracks, identifies drones and then either executes a cyber takeover or goes for soft or hardkill to either land the drone safely or send it back to where it came from depending on the threat it poses."The entire platform has been developed indigenously including the interceptors, but some components like sensors that are not made in India have been procured from friendly countries such as Israel," Kiran Raju, CEO & co-founder, Indrajaal, said.Grene Robotics, which was set up in 2008, spun off Indrajaal as a separate entity in 2023. The Indrajaal platform has not just military applications but is also deployed for protecting critical infrastructure such as sensitive defence installations, refineries, ports, airports, highways and power plants among others, as well as for securing the urban landscape, said Raju, who is also the CEO & founder of Grene Robotics.The platform has currently been deployed not just by the Indian Army but also the Indonesian army, as well as the world's largest refinery that covers an area bigger than London and India's third largest airport that handles over 37.5 million passengers.
