In Old City, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi slams ‘champions of secularism’
CHARMINAR: Senior BJP leader and union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday participated in a rally to support Bahadurpura candidate Haneef Ali.
Naqvi said that the Modi government has been successful in creating an atmosphere of development with trust among all sections of the society whithout any discrimination during its tenure. “These so-called champions of secularism treated some communities as vote bank which has resulted in these communities remaining backward. Be it social development, economic development or education these weaker sections have been left far behind on the path of development,” Naqvi said in his address.
Touching upon the core problems in the Old City, the minority affairs minister said that issues like unemployment, development and education have to be resolved. “Unemployment, development and education are the key issues that need to be addressed with urgency. The Bhartiya Janata Party wants to bring development without discrimination here,” he said.
The BJP leader said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi followed the policy of empowerment without appeasement and development with dignity. “Our government has made every section of society an equal partner in the development process. We have created an atmosphere of development with trust. But some people are unable to digest this and are trying to disturb the process,” Naqvi said during his address in Old City.
