ICSE, ISC result: Telangana studentsshine with near-perfect pass rate

Hyderabad: Students in Telangana delivered near-perfect results in the ICSE and ISC examinations, with Class 10 recording a pass percentage of 99.80% and Class 12 achieving 99.14%.According to results declared by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), 5,590 out of 5,601 students passed the ICSE (Class 10) exam in the state. Girls outperformed boys, registering a pass percentage of 99.93% compared to 99.68% among boys. A total of 45 schools in Telangana presented candidates for the examination.In the ISC (Class 12) examination, 922 out of 930 students cleared the exam, resulting in a pass rate of 99.14%. Once again, girls led with a pass percentage of 99.39%, while boys recorded 98.87%. Around 19 schools presented candidates for the ISC exam.Notably, a majority of schools in Telangana achieved a 100% pass rate.Category-wise, 1,535 Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates appeared for the ICSE exam, achieving a pass rate of 99.80%, while 3,712 general category candidates recorded 99.81%. In the ISC exam, 156 OBC candidates achieved a pass rate of 98.72%, while 738 general category students recorded 99.19%.The ICSE examination was conducted across 67 written subjects, including 20 Indian languages, 14 foreign languages, and one classical language. The ISC exam covered 45 written subjects, including 13 Indian languages, two foreign languages, and two classical languages, according to a CISCE release. "We are extremely proud of this outstanding result. Such outcomes are the result of a system that refuses to compromise on excellence. We did not prepare students merely for examinations – we prepared them to outperform their own potential by setting high standards, supporting them deeply and staying the course. At HPS, we don't chase results; we build them, and that makes all the difference," said Amrita Chandra Raju, vice principal of Hyderabad Public School (HPS), which achieved a 100% result.One of the toppers, Masanpally Saanvi, from St Joseph's School in Malakpet, who scored 97.4%, said: "I was really worried about physics. I love maths and English, which inspired me to apply to the IIT. I owe my success to my teachers and parents, who supported me throughout. The ICSE is tough, so congratulations to everyone else."The board also highlighted that among 1,313 ICSE candidates with learning difficulties, 132 scored above 90%. Among visually challenged candidates, 17 out of 54 secured over 90%.At the national level, the overall pass percentage for the ICSE was 99.18%, while the ISC recorded an overall pass rate of 99.13%. Telangana's results surpass these national averages in both categories.
