Relentless rain did not deter about 15,000 Hyderabadis from turning up for the much awaited
EDM concert
featuring international heavy weights like
Dmitri Vegas
and
Like Mike
and
Marshmello at the
Hitex Exhibition Grounds
. In what turned out to be one of the most memorable concerts the city has seen this year, the concert reinstated Hyderabad’s position as one of the foremost destinations for dance music in India.
A Chaotic startThe thick slush in and around the parking area saw revellers finding it tough to navigate to the entry point. Those who turned up in their flashy and stylish attire did not have it easy. Some girls even took of their heels and walked through the thick slush — talk about determination!
’Twas A massive rain dance Once inside, the excitement was palpable as the line-up of artists served out a three-and-a-half hour of non-stop music despite the intermittent rain. Indian artiste, Shaan, got the crowd warmed up before the quirky Marshmello took the stage. Wearing the iconic bucket-mask on his head, Marshmello enthralled the crowd with his remixes of songs like Hello From The Other Side and Lean On. He got the crowd roaring wild when he also played a remix of Chaiyya Chaiyya.
The stage was ready for the big guns to take over! Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike ensured that the frenzied crowd kept dancing throughout their sets which had remixes of popular songs like Eye Of The Tiger, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Hymn For The Weekend. All in all, a wet and wild night!
