Hyderabad: Hosts Hyderabad were in control on the first day of their Ranji Trophy Plate group match against Mizoram at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Friday.Electing to bat, Mizoram were all out for 199 with part-time offie Rohit Rayudu snaring four for 20.In reply, Hyderabad were 120 for the loss last match’s triple centurion Tanmay Agarwal. He was pouched by keeper Jehu Anderson off Mohit Jangra for six.After a good outing with the ball, Rayudu joined skipper Rahul Singh in the middle. The duo added 104 for an unbroken second wicket with Rahul scoring 81 (81b, 10x4, 6x1). Rayudu was on 25.Earlier, Mizoram lost their first wicket when Kartikeya Kak dismissed Andrew Vanlalhruaia with only 33 runs on board. In-form Agni Chopra added 23 runs with Jehu Anderson before the latter was dismissed by Elligaram Sanketh. Agni and Lalhruaizela added 50 runs for the third wicket. With the score on 106, Agni edged to Pragnay Reddy off Ravi Teja. Twelve runs later Chandan Sahani ran out LaJoseph Lalthankhuma for a duck. Thereafter, the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals.Rayudu cleaned up the lower order with his off breaks. Kak claimed two for 34 while Ravi Teja, Sanketh and Tanay Thyagarajan claimed one each.Cariappa top scored for Mizoram with a quickfire 45. His 24-ball stint included four sixes and four boundaries.Brief scores: Mizoram 199 in 56 overs (Agni Chopra 43, Cariappa 45, Vikas Kumar 19; Rohit Rayudu 4/20, Kartikeya Kak 2/34).Girinath wrecks BiharVisakhapatnam: Andhra medium pacer P Girinath Reddy claimed a five-for, his second in first-class cricket, and was instrumental in Bihar being restricted for 182 on the first day of the Ranji Trophy Group B league match at the Moin Ul Haq stadium, Patna on Friday.Andhra put Bihar in and Girinath Reddy reduced them to 4/4 in 10.3 overs and Bipin Sourabh was run out. With Bihar tottering at 23/5, Pratap held the team together with a responsible 92. He joined opener Sraman Nigrodh (16) to arrest the slide with a 37-run stand for the six wicket, added 42 for the next with Veer Pratap Singh (11) and gave some respectability to the total with an important stand of 72 runs with Himanshu Singh (32*).No cheer for Delhi New Delhi: For about an hour here on Friday morning, the Delhi players may have felt encouraged to believe that things were finally falling in place for them this Ranji Trophy season.Delhi decided to bowl first, and Ishant Sharma got the team off to a great start against table-toppers Baroda by dismissing opener Kinit Patel in the third over. But for the rest of the day, it was all about Baroda opener Jyotsnil Singh and No. 3 batter Shashwat Rawat. They put on an unbeaten 199-run partnership.
