HYDERABAD: Three men were arrested for misbehaving with a medical student who was staying in the same hotel as the offenders in Shamshabad limits in the
Ranga Reddy district of Telangana.
The 24-year-old medical student, after reaching Hyderabad from Ukraine, checked into a hotel in Shamshabad on Monday. "Her destination was in Bangalore. She wanted to board a bus the next day and checked into the hotel," said RGI Airport Inspector.
The accused - Praveen Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Suresh Kumar - were staying in the same hotel and on early hours of Tuesday started banging her door.
"She called some of her friends in Hyderabad, who dialled 100 and a team rushed to the spot," added the officer, adding, two of the accused are from Kurnool district, while one of them stays in Shamshabad. All were arrested from the spot.
Following this, the trio was booked under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (intending to insult the modesty of any woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
