To curb the spread of seasonal diseases that are transmitted by mosquitoes, several residents, elected representatives and bureaucrats in Hyderabad emptied the stagnant water in their house and surroundings on Sunday.

As part of the campaign, people are supposed to spend 10 minutes every Sunday emptying stagnant water that can turn into a breeding spot for mosquitoes, causing dengue and other diseases.
HYDERABAD: To curb the spread of seasonal diseases that are transmitted by mosquitoes, several residents, elected representatives and bureaucrats in Hyderabad emptied the stagnant water in their house and surroundings on Sunday.
To fight vector-borne diseases, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) minister KT Rama Rao appealed to people to participate in ‘Every Sunday 10 minutes 10am’ campaign.

As part of the campaign, people are supposed to spend 10 minutes every Sunday emptying stagnant water that can turn into a breeding spot for mosquitoes, causing dengue and other diseases.
Some denizens, elected representatives and bureaucrats who participated in the campaign also posted pictures on Twitter with the hashtag Every Sunday 10 minutes 10 am. The campaign commenced on May 10.
