Hyderabad receives light rainfall, thanks to cyclone Vardah

HYDERABAD: The city was in for a bout of

light rainfall

on Wednesday, which met officials claim is an after-effect of cyclone Vardah. It was not just rainfall, there was also a lowering of maximum temperature from the earlier 29.1 degrees Celsius to 24.1 degrees Celsius.

According to officials from Skymet Weather, remnants of the system are still lingering over the capital city of Telangana. In wake of this, weather conditions are favourable for the rain activity over Hyderabad. However,

intensity of rain

has been light in nature.

However, the rains would subside only after this system moves away from the Indian coast, we expect rains to reduce significantly over Telangana including Hyderabad.

The city will witness mainly dry weather on Thursday but one odd spell of rain cannot be ruled out, said experts from private weather forecasters Skymet.

They have also predicted that the day temperatures that had dropped will also start rising, conversely, while the night time temperatures drop.

Cyclone Vardah had made landfall over Indian coast, close to Chennai as a severe cyclonic storm. It had given heavy to very heavy record breaking rains over Chennai and Bangalore during the last 48 hours.
