The event organiser, Kandadi Vijay Kumar, and Mohd Ghouse, who arranged music for the event, were also booked along with the mayor for public nuisance (292), polluting the atmosphere and creating health hazards (280), and disobedience to orders promulgated by public servants (223) under BNS and the Hyderabad City Police Act. Banjara Hills police initiated a suo-motu probe on a complaint from Sk Naseer Ahmed, a constable from Banjara Hills who was on patrolling duty at the time of the event.

According to police, around 11.04 pm on Oct 10, when Naseer Ahmed and Ch Sai Prasad, a home guard, were on patrolling duty, they heard loud music in NBT Nagar. They went to the spot and found the music was from a Bathukamma event.

As the music was played beyond the permitted time of 10 pm, they asked the organisers to stop the loud music. In the meantime, Vijayalaxmi allegedly came to the officers and told them that police should not intervene and allow the high-decibel music. She allegedly also tried to allow the event to continue with heavy noise, causing pollution and disturbing the neighbourhood. The case is under investigation, said a Banjara Hills police official.
