Jabbar claimed that Mazhar had demanded 1 lakh to release Hrushikesh Behra. Punjagutta police registered a kidnapping case and traced the victim on Wednesday morning as well as arrested Mazhar.
During the probe, police found out that Hrushikesh had borrowed 2.3 lakh from Mazhar last year, but failed to return it.
Hrushikesh Behra (36), who hails from Odisha, has been staying at Rahmatnagar in Yousufguda.
"Mazhar left with Hrushikesh Behra without my permission. He later called me asking for 1 lakh to release him and also threatened to kill Hrushikesh Behra if I did not pay the money immediately," Jabbar claimed in his complaint to the Punjagutta police.
Based on Closed-circuit televisioncamera footage and call details, Punjagutta police zeroed in on a house in Jeedimetla where both Mazhar and Hrushikesh Behra were found. The victim was found to be safe and Mazhar was later remanded in judicial custody.
