Hyderabad: Facebook employee turned drug peddler arrested
HYDERABAD: Excise enforcement team has arrested former Facebook employee turned narcotics peddler for home delivering
Acting on specific information, Excise sleuths conducted intercepted Motilal Narsing Balaji Singh, 35, of Kavadiguda at Shivlal Nagar in Dhoolpet and seized 83 small plastic containers each with 10 grams of Hashish oi and 1.2 kilos of ganja from his possession. Excise team also seized a bike, a cell phone and a digital weighing machine from his possession.
During the interrogation of Balaji Singh, excise sleuths were startled to know that he finished MS from Canada and even worked in worked for Facebook.
“Balaji confessed that after finishing engineering in city he pursued MS in Canada in 2011 and subsequently worked for about two years in Facebook’s Hyderabad office. Balaji Singh was addicted to ganja and after losing his Facebook job, he remained unemployed for about three years. By then he was married and has children. Due to family pressure, he started working as Swiggy delivery executive and over a year ago he left that job and started home delivering ganja to customers,” said

“Balaji has been home delivering the products to clients who are mostly software employees and students staying in hostels. He has been charging Rs 1000 for 10 grams of Hashish oil and Rs 600 for 15 grams of ganja,” Anji Reddy said.
The arrested accused along with the seized contraband was handed over to Dhoolpet Excise station for further investigation. He was sent in judicial remand.
