Hyderabad: Criminal case against former IAS officer's wife for having illegal water connection at her house

The vigilance wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Tuesday, conducted raid on her property (D No 8-2-293/82/JIII/314) situated on Road No:79,
Based on the complaint, Jubilee Hills police registered a FIR under sections 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), and 430 (Mischief by injury to works of irrigation or by wrongfully diverting water), against her. The punishment for this offence is up to five years of imprisonment or fine, chief vigilance officer, HMWS&SB, M Ravi Chandan Reddy told TOI.
In fact, in 2017 January, the Banjara Hills police also registered a case against P Kalyani for allegedly trespassing into the houses of domestic help, Kumari, who worked in their home and assaulting for stolen of Rs 10 lakh from Kalyani’s house.
The vigilance team of HMWS&SB also be conducted raids on two other properties at Jubilee Hills, for possessing illegal water connections and registered criminal cases with Jubilee Police, said vigilance officer.
Raids will be continued against water thieves and registered criminal cases, added the water board official.
